SnorkelMap beta is live
The primary project of the snorkelling society is our innovative global community encyclopedia of snorkelling locations, SnorkelMap. SnorkelMap is a global, community edited repository of snorkel locations. Any user can create, edit or review snorkel locations anywhere on the planet. It is a place where people can discover new places to snorkel and anyone can contribute their snorkelling experiences.
In September 2026 we launched the SnorkelMap.com beta, please check it out and explore snorkel locations others have uploaded to the map, or alternatively add your own.
Our ambition for SnorkelMap.com is to see it become the world’s most visited and popular snorkel location website. Unlike other existing websites SnorkelMap has several distinctive advantages:
- Any registered user can add a location. Most other sites are proprietary and locations can only be added by the site owners.
- SnorkelMap is charity owned, the snorkel location information added by users is for the benefit of the community, not a for profit business.
- As users can edit existing listings, it is a living project where data doesn’t go stale.
- We have extensively user tested the project with real world users from across four different countries.
- SnorkelMap features an A-Z directory of snorkel locations across the world, as well as an interactive 3D global map
